Students (undergraduate or graduate) and short-term interns are welcome to apply to join the group. Interested parties should email HK Ng directly with his/her CV and a statement of interest.
A postdoc position is currently available (to start this year or early next year). The successful candidate will work on the subject of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing. A focus will be placed on the physical aspects of the noise, and how they affect the notion of fault tolerance, rather than on the design of new codes and new fault-tolerance schemes. The project includes looking into sources of noise in actual quantum information processing experiments. The postdoc will be hired through Yale-NUS College, and work in the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), National University of Singapore.
Potential candidates, please write to HK Ng with your CV and statement of interest. An understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance is expected; an understanding of the physics of noise and of current quantum computing implementation experiments will be a strong plus point.
